We were so happy to open our doors last Friday to all of the amazing, animal loving people that came out to help support Vegan Outreach, a non-profit organization founded in 1993 with the mission to move society away from eating animals and their products. Through the hard work of over 500 volunteers, Vegan Outreach has handed out 1.1 million booklets in several countries including the US, Australia, Canada, and Mexico with the goal of getting information out there and advocating for the animals.

The evening was filled with fabulous speeches made by Lori Stultz and Lisa Rimmert who spoke on behalf of Vegan Outreach, as well as Marc Bekoff, renowned author and co-founder of Ethologists for the Ethical Treatment of Animals: Citizens for Responsible Animal Behavior Studies. The insight, love, and dedication our speakers have for what they do came through profoundly in their speeches. Local Boulder artist, Lael Har, was incredibly kind and generous, providing some of her beautiful paintings for the event while contributing a portion of her sales for the evening to Vegan Outreach.

Aside from our fabulous speakers, wine and cheese were bountiful… vegan cheese that is. Who knew it could be so delicious?! Kite Hill was a fan favorite, with a rich, silky texture and a spot-on interpretation of a brie rind. Another almost addicting spread came from Tree Line, which is a great substitute for a non-vegan cheese spread.

Filling our bellies and listening to passionate speakers was a fabulous way to ring in the holiday season and fill us with knowledge to bring into the New Year. Thank you to all who came out and supported Vegan Outreach. We hope to have many more events like this in the future!
